"The 2012 Story" Quotes 14

"By sweeping the Maya source of the 2012 topic under the carpet, the way has been cleared for a smorgasbord of under-informed writers and market-driven hypesters to pillage 2012 on their way through the next trendy topic. The solution? Well, it's simple: Ask the four questions and go right to the heart of the 2012 calendar." (Chapter "The Long Career Of The Long Count", Page 60)

"The 2012 Story" Quotes 13

"In an effort to pierce the many layers of disinformation that accrete around the 2012 topic, we should consider these four guiding questions to be paramount to understanding 2012, indispensable if we care at all about the authentic perspective on the meaning of the cycle-ending date in 2012: What is the Long Count calendar, how does it work, where was it developed, and when?" "The 2012 Story" Quotes 12

"Why did the ancient people of Mesoamerica created the Long Count? Who where they, where was it done, and when? These are important questions to explore if we really want to understand the 2012 story." (Chapter "The Long Career Of The Long Count", Page 59)

"The 2012 Story" Quotes 11

"... projection happens with 2012, wich is turned into an apocalypse when the Maya, having a cyclic time philosophy, would never have thought about cycle endings in such a way. Many have projected the concept of the apocalype onto 2012 when it was never there in the first place." (Chapter "Recovering A Lost World", Page 52)

Emptiness / Absolute

Daysies standing in the medow,
The cherry tree is in bloom,
The middle way before us
- everything ceases.

"The 2012 Story" Quotes 10

"Scholars consequently do not try to shift their consciousness in order to perceive the unique traits of an ancient culture and are instead content to interpret it through the unmoving filters of their own paradigm's values and assumptions." (Chapter "Recovering A Lost World", Page 51)

2012: Startling New Secrets - TV Documentation

I've found another this time professional produced documentation form Syfy in 2009. It's made up with open minded questions on 2012.

One of the main characters is John Major Jenkins, explaining his galactic alignment theory and filmed while do research at some Maya sites, including the finding of a stone which should be evidence that 2012 will be a shift and not a doom.

The movie tries to link to ancient Egypt, too. But not in the sens that Egypt has anything to do with 2012, as more with the search for a "how to survive a cataclysm" secret, which should be hidden under a remote pyramid site.

Further there is research done, trying to get in touch with the some wild physical theory. And finally some "how to survive" people are inspecting an bunker.

Overall there are many aspects of 2012 lit up in this TV documentation and it's fun to watch. Sure it's too based on the question if there will be doom in 2012, but as stated above with an open mind.

You can find the data of it here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1539105/

2012: Mayan Prophecy and the Shift of the Ages - Movie Recommendation

The movie by the "honored registrar of 2012" Geoff Stray and investigative journalist Philip Coppens is a very nice aggregation of the 2012 thing.

The pictures / animations are feckless because they're never in line with the content. But the script is rather good, even if there's some "doom talk" in it.

There is a audio book version, too, which should outweight the silly animations.

"The 2012 Story" Quotes 8

"In the evolving understanding of the 2012 topic over the last twenty-five years, I've often encountered echoes of this attitude, an underinformed prejudice masquerading as coolheaded rationalism." (Chapter "Recovering A Lost World", Page 25)

"The 2012 Story" Quotes 6

"The History Channel's "2012: Decoding the Past, Mayan Doomsday Prophecy" of 2006 also insisted on emphazizing salacious scenarios of sacrifice and violence, and committed a complete false assertion that the ancient Maya predicted doomsday in 2012." (Chapter "Recovering A Lost World", Page 24)

"The 2012 Story" Quotes 2

"Ultimately, this is the only way that anyone will be able to understand for themselves what 2012 is all about. It's an understanding not limited to facts and figures - it is the gnosis of union with the whole consciousness that lies at the root of ego and world." (Chapter "2012: An Unstoppable Idea", Page 9)

"The 2012 Story" Quotes 1

Starting from today I'm going to post some quotes from John Major Jenkins' book "The 2012 Story" here in the blog.

"...and beyond it (Part II of the book) is the ultimate invitation - for the reader to lay down books and open up their own initiatory conduit into a direct inner experience of the universal gnosis that all spiritual teachings poit to." (Chapter "2012: An Unstoppable Idea", Page 9)

"Geh in den Keller" - ein Treppenwitz

Nur Du bist hier die Treppe,
vom Keller bis zum Dach,

doch dass in jedem Stockwerk,
das hast Du nicht bedacht,

ein Feuer brennt von unten,
das keine Wahrheit macht,

und auch in Deinem Herzen,
von höh'rem Geist entfacht.

year 2012 project - Neuigkeiten

Der Untertitel "The Myths, Fallacies, And Truth Behind The Most Intriguing Date In History" bringt schön zum Ausdruck, worum es geht.
